Pakistan: Comrade Riaz Lund Shot! Mobilize Solidarity!

photo 1Comrade Riaz Lund, a leading member of the Pakistan section of the IMT and well-known class fighter in Karachi, has been shot in cold blood by assassins. In a cowardly and brutal assault, he was hit three times, twice in the stomach and once in the chest.

 

 

St. Louis: Justice for Michael Brown

fergusonprotest3On August 27, the Youth for International Socialism (YFIS) club at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) held a forum titled, “Justice for Michael Brown: Enough is Enough!” to present a Marxist analysis of the events in Ferguson and the role of the state in capitalist society. This forum also offered a much needed opportunity for the campus student body to publicly discuss the situation and vent their frustrations.

Italy: Festa Rossa—A Resounding Success!

seminarFrom the minute comrades began to set up the stage, a week before the event was due to open, it was clear that the times were ripe for the return of our national Red Festival (Festa Rossa) for the 4th year. As soon as the first comrades set foot in the XXII Aprile park, in the city of Modena, mounting tents, stages, kitchens and various stands, dozens of people from the neighborhood came to us expressing their delight that the communist gathering had returned to the area.

Over 100 Present at the British Marxist School to Discuss "A Century of Struggle"

summerschool2014-2Over 100 comrades attended the 4th annual Marxist Summer School in London, hosted by the IMT and UCLU Marxist Society from 20th-22nd June. The theme of this year’s school was ‘A Century of Struggle’ to commemorate not only capitalism’s passing over into imperialist barbarism in World War One, but also the manifold revolutions led by the working class in a period where capitalism has ceased to play any remotely progressive role.
