The congress also passed a series of amendmends to clarify certain aspects of the situation - none of these however, altered the fundamental points of the document. The amendments have been inserted in the present version of the document.

Historic Turnout for the 2015 Marxist Winter School!

Over 80 people registered to participate in the annual Marxist Winter School on the weekend of February 15–16 in icy Montreal. This year’s school, held at Concordia University, broke the record for the highest attendance in the event’s history, and saw revolutionary activists visiting from Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Boston, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and California. Organizers from Fightback (Canada), La Riposte (Quebec), and the Workers’ International League (USA) were elated to have held yet another successful event, proven by the sense of enthusiasm which permeated the room. In the continuing tradition of revolutionary unity between workers and youth from both English and French Canada, discussion was held in both French and English and facilitated through consecutive translation.

February 2015 Fighting Fund Appeal

Thanks to the sacrifice of dozens of people, Socialist Appeal was able to raise more than $25,000 towards our Fighting Fund last year. This year, we have the same goal, to raise $25,000 and more, if possible, to help spread the ideas of Marxism—in the USA and around the world.

Congress of Italian Section of the IMT Sets Up “Sinistra Classe Rivoluzione”

confnaz1 smallOver 150 comrades, from 25 different cities, gathered at the “El Pueblo” Arci Circle in Milan on December 6–8 for the national conference of “Sinistra classe rivoluzione” [Left Wing, Working Class, and Revolution], the name that the comrades of the IMT in Italy agreed upon during the proceedings. It was a relaunch of the organization, and there could be no better time for it! After years of relative calm, the Italian working class is reawakening, and along with it the class struggle.

Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Struggle for Socialism

MLKToday, January 19, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day to remember the struggle of millions of African-Americans and their allies to end the poison of racism. The recent movement in response to the police killings of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO and Eric Garner in New York City serve to underline that racism is still very much alive in the United States, but so is the fight against it.
