The Ruling Class Takes Aim: Labor Must Unite and Fight!
In classic "divide and rule" fashion, Donald Trump seeks to drive a wedge into the working class. By giving tiny crumbs to a few and scapegoating others, he hopes to distract us from the real source of the problems faced by all workers: capitalism. Read More +

The election of Donld Trump has sent shock waves and mass protests across the US. John Peterson, editor of Socialist Appeal magazine, provides a Marxist analysis of the Trump election and its implications for the class struggle during the Northeast Regional Marxist School of the IMT in New York.
Nearly seventy comrades and contacts converged on the National Center of the US Section of the IMT in Brooklyn, New York for the 2016 Northeast Regional Marxist School. Held just days after Donald Trump’s stunning election victory over Hillary Clinton, it was a standing-room-only crowd as comrades from New York, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Louisville, KY, Toronto, Montreal, and London assembled for what proved to be a weekend of passionate political discussion. In addition, over 3,700 people from around the world tuned into the four sessions via live stream on Facebook.
Comrades of the IMT are distributing thousands of copies of this leaflet in over 20 cities at the anti-Trump demonstrations that have erupted across the country. Download it here!
Millions of workers and young people are digesting the bitter pill of the failure of lesser evilism. They cannot imagine a world in which a bigoted billionaire bully is the top official in American political life. But countless others are outraged, viscerally affected, and ready to fight. While the liberal apologists for the crimes and failures of Clinton and the Democrats panicked and despaired, the instincts of the radicalized youth have come alive.
On the day after the election, Americans woke to find themselves in a “strange new land.” The Washington Post called Trump’s victory a “cataclysmic, history-making upset.” According to insider reports, the Republican National Committee and even Donald Trump himself did not expect the result.
It is said that a man standing on the edge of cliff does not reason. Today’s global economy is full of cliffs, one of the steepest being the Silicon Valley tech sector, and the men peering over it can be heard chattering nervously about . . . an impending stampede of unicorns. Those uninitiated in the Orwellian parlance of Silicon Valley and its venture capitalist circles could easily mistake such talk for the absurd ravings of a lunatic. But this term has come to describe the primary danger threatening to devastate the tech sector in a cataclysmic repetition of the 1999 dot-com bubble.
